Prime Minister hails commanding performance as India secures its first gold medal of the Games

New Delhi, 22nd Sept: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated India’s Women’s Cricket Team on winning the Gold medal at the Asian Games, describing the achievement as a “splendid triumph” for Indian cricket.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister congratulated the entire squad and described the team’s performance as commanding, highlighting its confidence, skill and teamwork.
“This victory also brings India its first Gold of this edition of the Games,” the Prime Minister said, according to the post shared by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Modi said the team had made the nation proud and would inspire “countless young cricketers” across the country.
He also extended his best wishes to all members of the squad following their gold-medal triumph.
