Shivraj Chouhan Approves ₹605.71 Cr for Rajasthan, Telangana
Union Minister clears fresh funding under PM-RKVY and Krishonnati Yojana, emphasises faster implementation of farmer welfare schemes

New Delhi, 13th Aug: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan has approved financial assistance worth ₹605.71 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and the Krishonnati Yojana (KY) to accelerate agricultural development and strengthen farmer welfare.
The approvals were granted after reviewing the Annual Action Plans, expenditure status and implementation progress of both states during a virtual meeting chaired by Shri Chouhan. Union Agriculture Secretary Atish Chandra, senior officials of the Union Government and agriculture departments of Rajasthan and Telangana also participated in the meeting.
Rajasthan has been allocated ₹340.59 crore, including ₹216.12 crore under PM-RKVY and ₹124.47 crore under Krishonnati Yojana. The state had earlier received a first instalment of ₹216.13 crore and has utilised over 76 per cent of the sanctioned amount.
Telangana has been sanctioned ₹265.12 crore, comprising ₹157.66 crore under PM-RKVY and ₹107.46 crore under Krishonnati Yojana. The allocation follows the state’s expenditure of ₹96.05 crore, representing nearly 61 per cent utilisation of the first sanctioned instalment.
During the review, Shri Chouhan commended Telangana’s innovative Farmer ID and fertiliser distribution model, stating that it would improve transparency and efficiency in delivering agricultural services. However, he advised the state to accelerate implementation and expenditure under the Oilseeds and Pulses Missions.
For Rajasthan, the Union Minister extended his best wishes for the state’s agricultural development and called for greater attention to expanding Kisan Credit Card (KCC) coverage to ensure farmers receive timely and hassle-free institutional credit.
Shri Chouhan said the fresh allocations would strengthen agricultural infrastructure, enhance productivity, improve input support and ensure that the benefits of Central schemes reach farmers more effectively. He reiterated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre remains committed to providing every possible support to states for the welfare of farmers through timely financial assistance, technical guidance and close coordination.
