No Casualties Reported as Private Training Aircraft Suffers Minor Damage During Emergency Landing

Pune, 9th Aug: A trainer aircraft operated by a private aviation company crash-landed at Baramati Airport in Pune district on Sunday afternoon. No casualties were reported in the incident, while the aircraft sustained minor damage, officials said.
The accident occurred at around 12:35 pm within the airport premises, a short distance from the runway. Airport authorities initiated standard safety procedures following the emergency landing.
The incident comes nearly seven months after a fatal aircraft crash near the same airport in January, in which five people, including then Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, lost their lives. The Learjet 45 had crashed during its second landing attempt, and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is continuing its investigation into that accident.
This is also the second trainer aircraft incident reported near Baramati this year. In May, another trainer aircraft operated by a private company crash-landed near Gojubavi village, adjacent to the Baramati airstrip. The trainee pilot, who was the sole occupant, escaped without serious injuries after part of the aircraft struck an electric pole during the emergency landing.
According to preliminary information from witnesses in Sunday’s incident, the aircraft was flying at a relatively low altitude when it reportedly developed a technical malfunction, necessitating the emergency landing.
Authorities are expected to investigate the latest incident to determine the exact cause of the crash landing.
